Weekend Wellness | No. 23

Hi, Friends! I don’t know about your home, but ours seems to have more toys than we know what to do with, and the reality is, our children don’t play with most of what they have. Today we thought we would share some ideas for kids’ gifts that are not toys. This would be a great resource for any parent or grandparent to use while shopping for your favorite kiddos this Christmas! This list isn’t super extensive but gives you a building block to start thinking outside of just toys.

  • Season passes to local attractions
  • Tickets to a play or movie
  • Family game
  • Camera (upcycle that old portable camera that’s been in your drawers for years!)
  • Gardening tools
  • A cookbook and cooking tools of their own
  • Items they use daily (toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, pajamas, etc.)
  • Science Kits
  • A special day alone with mom or dad
  • Classes (dance, cooking, karate, etc.)
  • Magazine subscription
  • Music Lessons
  • A journal and pen
  • Their own set of tools
  • Arts and craft supplies
  • Puzzle
  • Sports equipment
  • Overnight stay at a hotel

Toys will never bring long-term satisfaction. Spending time with your kids and doing things together is what they will enjoy and remember the most. Try to find alternatives to toys and you and your little one will have an even better Christmas. After all, Christmas isn’t about the toys under the tree… it is about our Savior that was born from a virgin. The true miracle and meaning of Christmas.

We hope you take time season to savor the real gift, Jesus Christ our Savior. We will be taking the remainder of the year off to enjoy spending time with our loved ones, and we hope you are able to do the same. We may pop in on social media from time to time, so make sure you are following us on Instagram and Facebook. See you in 2023!

As a reminder, today is the last day to shop to ensure priority shipping on anything within our store. We have adorable gift baskets available for a limited time, while supplies last. Shop here today!

Stay Well,
Tricia + Alisha
