Okay… let’s talk ticks. This year they are SO BAD! We have never had a year like this living in our area. I don’t know if it’s all the water we got mixed with the quick warm temps or what, but they’re bad. We are pulling them off the kids every day, just from playing in the backyard. A few weeks ago I even had to call a neighbor to come get one off one of the kids, but now they’re so frequent I’ve been forced to become and “expert” at this. And I don’t know about you guys but Lymes is always in the back of mind when I see a tick.

I’ve resorted to making myself a grab-and-go tick kit. It goes to baseball practice, picnics, and every park play date. Here’s what’s in it…
Forget Me Balm- Pre Step: I just started doing this, this past weekend and I haven’t found any behind the ears yet! Before we even go outside I’ve been rubbing a little bit behind their ears and hairline (that’s where I’ve been finding them) I don’t know if they don’t like the scent or what, but I haven’t found any behind the ears since I’ve been doing this.
Tweezers- Step 1: From the side of the tweezer gently grab the tick by the head and pull. It WILL stick, just keep working at it and it will come off. Do NOT pinch it as the head will break.
Bentonite Clay- Step 2: I could make a separate post about how much we love this stuff, but if you don’t have some… get it! Make a paste with water and keep it in a container. It’ll help pull out the toxins and clean the skin.
Ledum- Step 3: Homeopathy for bug bites! After a bite we use it twice a day for a week.
We are not doctors and are making no health claims. If you see a bullseye after a tick bite see your regular physician. We just wanted to share what is working for our family!
Stay Well,
Tricia + Alisha
