Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all of our mama friends! And yes, if you’re a soon-to-be, want to be, mom/auntie, and/or a mother figure to a precious kiddo… this post is for you too! Being a mom is such a rewarding title, as hard as it is sometimes, that one day just doesn’t seem enough!
Everybody celebrates Mother’s Day differently. It can be hard to balance when you’re a mom yourself and yet you want to recognize your own mothers in your life. Here’s what we all should agree on… this day should not be stressful! Take this one day that is dedicated to you and fill your mom cup (full of real coffee too of course because you know-you’re a mom)! If that means packing the kids up to visit your mom and mother-in-law then do it, if that means packing a picnic then do it, if that means packing an overnight bag and going to a hotel room solo for some sleep then DO IT! You get a full day’s pass and you can’t be wrong or feel any guilt!

Tricia likes to celebrate Mother’s Day with just her family outside. They love going hiking, biking, zoo, packing a picnic, and if it’s inside you bet they will find an indoor park. Some of their favorite spots are:
-Minnehaha falls – they even have bike rentals for large families and you bike around in a car! There is also a restaurant to eat outside.
-State Park Biking Trails
-Minneapolis Sculpture Garden (have the kids bring a notebook and draw what they see!)
-Visiting Farmer’s Markets in your local area (most open in May) Come and see us in Buffalo, Minnesota on Saturdays this summer, starting on May 7, 2022!
We know Mother’s Day isn’t always easy. If your family doesn’t look the way you always imagined it would look or you are in the middle of grieving a little someone you never got to meet and have only dreamed of, know we are mourning with you and fervently praying God answers those prayers. That He restores your heart. If you are grieving the loss of a mother, sister, grandmother, or friend, we are praying for you. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that “the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Lean into His love, compassion, and grace. Give your burdens to Him, He will meet you wherever you are.
We would be honored to pray for you if you ever are in need of extra prayer. Feel free to reach out to us privately via social media, or by email at forgetmenotwellness@outlook.com.
Stay Well,
Tricia + Alisha
